Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Store Manager to lead our retail team and oversee daily store operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a comprehensive understanding of retail management. This role requires a proactive approach to team management, customer service, merchandising, and sales strategies to ensure the store's success and growth. Prior supervisory and management’s experience are highly valued to effectively serve diverse customer bases and manage staff.
Duties
- Lead and supervise front store staff, including recruiting, training, and developing team members to achieve sales goals and maintain high customer service standards.
- Oversee daily store operations, including cash handling, POS transactions, inventory management, purchasing, and pricing strategies.
- Implement effective merchandising techniques to maximize product visibility and sales performance.
- Manage payroll, budgeting, and administrative tasks such as bookkeeping and record keeping to ensure operational efficiency.
- Develop marketing initiatives to attract new customers and retain existing clientele through promotional activities.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, health & safety regulations, and store procedures.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide coaching to foster a motivated and productive team environment.
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints professionally, and maintain excellent phone etiquette.
- Utilize organizational skills to manage time effectively across multiple responsibilities while maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
Experience
- Proven supervisory or managerial experience in retail sales or store management is essential.
- Strong background in sales management, merchandising, pricing strategies, and customer service is preferred.
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, team management, training & development, marketing, budgeting, and administrative functions are highly desirable.
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering, bookkeeping, payroll processing, purchasing, and inventory control is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills combined with leadership qualities are critical for success in this role.
- Prior experience in retail management should be complemented by strong organizational skills, time management capabilities, math proficiency for cash handling and pricing accuracy, as well as effective phone etiquette.
