Do you love anime, gaming, collectibles, Pokémon, Funko Pops, and pop culture merchandise? Looking for a fun summer job where you can work with an energetic team while meeting thousands of event attendees?
Da Pop Up Shop (DPS) is hiring enthusiastic and reliable Retail Floor Staff for the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede 2026.
This is a great opportunity for students, retail associates, anime fans, gamers, collectors, and anyone looking to gain experience working at one of Alberta's premier summer events.
Position
Retail Floor Staff (Event Staff)
Location: Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede – Medicine Hat, AB
Employment Type: Temporary / Event Staff
Compensation: Starting at Alberta minimum wage ($15.00/hour)
What You'll Be Doing
As a member of our event team, you'll help create a fun shopping experience for guests while supporting the daily operation of our booth.
Responsibilities include:
- Greeting and assisting customers
- Selling anime, gaming, and collectible merchandise
- Restocking products and maintaining displays
- Answering customer questions about products and promotions
- Managing customer lines during busy periods
- Assisting with event setup and teardown
- Loading, unloading, and moving merchandise and equipment
- Keeping the booth clean, organized, and fully stocked
- Supporting other event-related tasks as required
This is a cross-functional event support position and may involve retail sales, inventory, logistics, and general event operations.
What We're Looking For
- Friendly and outgoing personality
- Excellent customer service skills
- Reliable and punctual
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Comfortable standing for extended periods
- Able to lift and move merchandise and equipment (up to 50 lbs with assistance when required)
- Previous retail, convention, or customer service experience is an asset but not required
Important Availability Requirement
Applicants must be available to work all scheduled event shifts during the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede.
Additional setup and teardown shifts may also be available before and after the event.
