Casual/Substitute Clerical
The Medicine Hat Public School Division came into existence in 1886 and has grown to serve just under 7,000 students. Our Division offers a full spectrum of programs and services centered on students’ needs with sensitivity to community and parents’ needs.
Our wide range of programs service children from 2½ years of age to Grade 12. The Division is comprised of three high schools, five middle schools (including Christian education, French immersion and a virtual online school), 12 elementary schools, (including a virtual online learning school, STEM centered learning school, arts centered learning school and a variety of alternative programs).
Throughout the school year we recruit for substitute clerical staff to work on a casual on call basis throughout our Division to cover absences.
Responsibilities may include:
- Operate switchboard, direct inquiries from public, parents, staff.
- Prepare various letters and correspondence.
- Excuse students when required and coordinate with parents, teachers and student.
- Maintain student records/files (Tracking of marks, attendance and other student information).
- Distribute mail for all staff and receive any deliveries to school.
- Prepare school communications to staff and students.
- Receive deliveries and prepare shipping.
- Other tasks that may be required.
Office administration experience and/or an Office Administration Certificate or Diploma is required.
