We are looking for a motivated and hands-on Front of House Manager who is passionate about hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in leading a team to success.
This is not a desk job. We're looking for a leader who is visible on the floor, leads by example, supports their team during busy periods, and creates memorable guest experiences every day.
Position Summary
The Front of House Manager is responsible for overseeing all front-of-house operations, including guest experience, team leadership, staffing, service standards, and daily restaurant operations. The successful candidate will be a strong communicator, problem solver, and team builder who can motivate staff while maintaining a positive and energetic work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop front-of-house team members, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and expos.
- Foster a positive, professional, and guest-focused culture.
- Ensure exceptional guest experiences through consistent service standards and hospitality.
- Be actively present on the floor during service periods, supporting staff and guests.
- Handle guest concerns and service recovery professionally and effectively.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of team members.
- Create and manage staff schedules while maintaining labour targets.
- Monitor front-of-house inventory and assist with ordering supplies as required.
- Ensure proper cash handling procedures and POS compliance.
- Work closely with kitchen leadership to ensure seamless communication and efficient operations.
- Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and operational readiness.
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor licensing, and company policies.
- Lead pre-shift meetings and provide ongoing coaching and support to team members.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of management or supervisory experience in a restaurant, hospitality, or customer service environment.
- Minimum 2 years of hospitality experience in serving, bartending, or other front-of-house positions.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop employees.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to resolve guest concerns with professionalism and confidence.
- Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and restaurant operations.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Smart Serve Certification is considered an asset.
