Position Details
The Grounds Department requires the services of students to assist permanent staff in grounds care for the summer months of May 1 – August 31, 2023.

Duties will include:

    • Mowing with push and ride on mowers
    • String trimming
    • Emptying trash bins
    • Litter picking
    • Digging for irrigation repairs
    • Cleaning, tilling, and weeding feature beds
    • Other duties as assigned

 

HIRING SALARY RANGE: $18.70 per hour
HOURS OF WORK: 37.5hrs per week with shifts 07:00 – 15:00 Monday through Friday.

 

Position Qualifications
Interested candidates must be proficient or can quickly learn the skills needed to mow grass and operate lawn care equipment, can work independently or as part of a group as a team member in a high-volume, service-orientated work environment with frequent changes to work priorities. All work involves interaction with the public, so the ability to work safely and be aware of surroundings is paramount.

A valid Class 5 Driver’s License (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerits and submission of a motor vehicle record (driver abstract) dated within 3 months of the posting close is required.

Current certification in Standard First Aid & CPR C w/AED would be considered an asset.
