Express Employment is hiring a bookkeeper on behalf of our client. A bookkeeper is responsible for recording daily financial transactions, updating a general ledger and preparing trial balances for perusal by accountants. They maintain and file requisite documents for taxation compliance. They monitor cash flow and produce financial reports to assist managers in taking strategic decisions. Bookkeepers may also assist in running payroll and generating invoices for your company. It is essential that a bookkeeper have a senior level accountant to report to; they would be handing off items such as preparing balance sheet, income statements, cash flow statements and closing books.
- Maintaining records of financial transactions
- Reconciling entries to balance accounts
- Maintaining a balanced general ledger
- Monitoring for variances from the budget
- Assisting in financial activities such as running payroll and generating invoices
- Prepare clients statements
- Prepare and send check or wire payments as authorized
- Reconcile and post credit card payments
- Update accounts receivable, issue invoices for payment, perform reconciliations
- Assist with process documentation of AP and AR main processes
- Provides back up for other team members and fill in when needed
- Help managers / owners in optimizing processes to drive efficiency
- Help change paper formats to digital formats where feasible
- Assist in the processing of balance sheets, income statements and other financial statements according to legal and company accounting and financial guidelines
- Assist with reviewing of expenses, payroll records etc. as assigned. Processing payroll.
- Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
- Prepare and submit weekly/monthly reports
- Assist with other accounting projects
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
Experience:
- Bookkeeping: 3 years (required)
