Field Operator
Degree/Diploma in Electronics Required
*SCOPE OF POSITION*To install, maintain and service geophysical surveying equipment, while collecting, compiling, and archiving related survey data. You will be required to fly in an aircraft, on a daily basis for lengthy periods of time, while maintaining the onboard survey equipment. The position involves working and living for extended periods of time in remote locations across Canada, U.S. and around the world.
*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES*Install, maintain and service surveying equipment. Assist in the inspection, testing and adjustment of electronic components. Ensure that quality standards are maintained. Responsible for the operations of electronic equipment. Responsible for the collection, compilation and processing of operational data, reading detailed colour coded maps, reading and interpreting colour coded data. Must be available to travel for extended periods of time, with little notice.
*BASIC REQUIREMENTS*Problem-solving and decision making skills. Must be a critical thinker. Excellent organizational and planning abilities. Must be able to work effectively with others, in close confines, for extended periods of time. Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and written. Will be proficient in applying basic mathematics and unit conversion. Must be computer oriented. Must be knowledgeable with internet applications, word processing and spreadsheet software. This job requires manual labour including heavy lifting of over 40 Kg, sitting within the confines of an aircraft for extended periods, working on your feet for many hours of the day, standing for long periods.
