Food Service Attendant Indeed

Chinook Village, Medicine Hat’s premiere retirement community, has immediate openings for two Food Service Attendants. This summer position is being offered to a student that will be returning to school in the fall. This position offers up to 37.5 hours per week.

The Food Service Attendant position is responsible for:

• The preparation and service of high-quality food and beverages to residents and guests.
• Serves and assists in the dining room, banquet rooms, servery and Ice Cream Parlor.
• Sets tables, cleans dishes and equipment and tables.
• Will help facilitate banquets and catered functions. In conjunction with resident volunteers, will prepare and serve ice-cream treats in the ice-cream parlor.
• This position maintains a high level of cleanliness and follows all Food Safe standards, meeting all code requirements.

The successful applicant must be flexible, patient, dependable, self-motivated and be able to contribute positively as a member of the Chinook Village team. Working under limited supervision, the successful applicant must have a basic understanding of the elderly and aging process.

Previous experience in a leisure/recreation position is a definite asset.

The successful applicant will be required to provide an acceptable criminal record and vulnerable sector check, not older than 6 months, prior to commencement within the position. Will also provide proof that they have received the COVID-19 vaccinations and any required COVID-19 booster vaccination. This requirement shall be waived if the applicant has not received the vaccination due to any legislated protected human rights grounds. In such a case, and upon presentation of sufficient proof, Chinook Village shall make reasonable attempts to accommodate the applicant to carry out their role where possible recognizing that the health and safety of other employees and residents will be a priority.
