Human Resources Coordinator

 

The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for all payroll functions including hourly and salary and to assist the Human Resources department in day to day activities. The incumbent is also a go-to person, carries out a diverse list of office administration and service activities that contribute to a streamlined, efficient, and cost-effective front-office operation.

Relationships and Contacts:
This position reports to the Human Resources Manager. The Human Resources Coordinator will also interact with both hourly and salary staff.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll for all hourly and salaried employees including any payroll adjustments, bonuses, overtime etc.
  • Manage and track all employees vacation, personal days, and overtime.
  • Provide support and assistance for any audits.
  • Manage the payroll system.
  • Process benefits and pension administration (enrollments, employee changes, and terminations)
  • Answer a wide range of inquiries from employees regarding benefits, assisting in the completion of forms and assisting with problem claims.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding.
  • Tracking of employee appraisals.
  • Track attendance management program.
  • Manage hourly short-term disability.
  • Plan work events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Health and Safety Responsibilities:

  • Using or wearing the protective equipment designated by the accident prevention policy.
  • Follow safe work procedures.
  • Reporting immediately to their supervisor any unsafe conditions or acts.
  • Reporting all accidents or injuries to your supervisor immediately.

 

Food Safety Responsibilities:

  • Commitment to Quality System Policy
  • Enforce quality and food safety programs within the role
  • Communication of food safety issues to related department and action within the role
  • Active participation in food safety, food security, health, sanitation, hygiene and quality program within the role

 

Qualifications and Abilities:

  • Payroll or Human Resources experience would be an asset.
  • Post Secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or any related field.
  • Computer proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of software – MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook.
  • Must possess strong interpersonal, presentation, and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to ensure integrity of data and confidentiality of employee information.
  • The successful candidate will be detail oriented and will possess an ability to multi-task in an ever-changing, fast-paced environment.
  • A demonstrated willingness to learn, live and teach our Cavendish Farms leadership values.
  • Strong team player with problem-solving capabilities,
  • Ability to get things done within a decentralized environment with minimal supervision,
  • Positive and professional approach with willingness to learn and enjoys challenging oneself.
