Title and Authority

Job Title: Inside Sales Representative

Reporting Structure: This role reports to the Branch Manager. This role has no managerial authority and no direct reports.

General Description of the Role

The Inside Sales Representative is a key contributor in meeting and/or exceeding established sales goals and targets while coordinating between multiple projects ensuring all internal and external stakeholders are always well informed. The Inside Sales Representative is a change champion providing input to policies, processes, or procedural change. Leading by example is key when dealing with the administrative part of the job and when needed makes this position a jack of all trades who is adaptable, positive, analytical and detail oriented.

Role Accountabilities

· Be the communications conduit between administrative colleagues, outside sales representatives, customers, architects, engineers, contractors', and business owners.

· Upsell services and make product recommendations.

· Stay informed about product and service information updates.

· Champion change while providing input to any policy, process, and procedural updates.

· Distribute leads to outside sales representatives.

· Be creative with solutions when issues or concerns arise from our customers or business partners.

· Develop and write proposals for our products in commercial and residential applications.

· Provide direction to front desk staff.

· Respect the confidentiality of their customers.

Specific Tasks

· Answer phone calls and respond to emails in a professional manner.

· Build rapport with customers.

· Collect customer information for future follow-ups.

· Close sales

· Identify sales opportunities.

· Stay informed about product and service information updates.

· Manage customer handling such as complaints, comments, answering questions, etc.

· Maintain and update existing customer files.

· Provide outstanding customer service.

· Perform other job duties as required.

Skills and Experience

· Someone who can sell and is comfortable selling.

· Someone who is familiar with writing proposals and drafting quotes.

· Detail oriented and produce accurate work.

· Someone who can deal with multiple interruptions, multitask, and can redirect and manage time as necessary.

· Someone who possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Punctual and reliable.

· Able to work effectively and productively without close supervision.

· Proficient with computers generally and MS Office suite in particular.

· Able to present and showcase the product in various options, pros and cons, comparisons to competition.

· Customer service oriented.

· Someone with strong conflict resolution skills.

· Knowledgeable about the products being sold.

· Professional with fellow employees, customers, and supplier representatives.

· Someone who works well independently and as part of a team.

· Adaptable, flexible, and open to change.

· Computer literate, including word processing, spreadsheet software, and database applications.

· Willing to receive on-the-job training.

· Able to build an excellent rapport with customers.

· Physically able to safely lift 30-50 pounds.

· Motivated and hardworking.

· A high school diploma or GED certificate

· 3-5 years of experience in sales and customer service

· Worked in a similar role before

· An ability to grasp new software and work arounds.

· This position requires 100% on site work.

· This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time.

· This position requires some travel.

· This position requires a valid drivers’ license.
