Your Opportunity:
As an IT Analyst II for AHS Telecommunications Services, you will be part of a highly important team responsible for the delivery of telephony infrastructure for the healthcare environment. Your experience in the telecommunications industry will provide you with the knowledge necessary to work closely with internal and external project teams and telecommunication vendors to implement telecommunication solutions necessary to meet end user requirements for Alberta Health Services. You will provide technical support related to telecommunications services systems and applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of telecommunications systems, resolve technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and coordinate projects and program initiatives from telecommunications services perspective. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom, or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyze telecommunication solutions provided to Alberta Health Services to ensure that it fits both technical requirements, business needs, while adhering to established Telecommunication Services standards. Make recommendations about new approaches, system optimization, future requirements, best practices, and processes. You will also spend time on Telecommunication Services projects and initiatives. This is a Temporary Position for up to a 1-year term with the possibility of an extension.

Required Qualifications:Completion of bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:Post-secondary degree, Telecommunications/IT Technology degree/diploma, or equivalent. 5+ years of telecommunications industry-related experience in a large, complex, multi-vendor environment. Expert level knowledge telecommunications systems at the Enterprise level. High level knowledge of NEC Telephony technology, principles, tools, and methodologies Working knowledge of telecommunications related applications, architecture, and design, including both on-premises and hosted deployments. Understanding of networks, network security, servers, and telephone end-user devices
Preferred Qualifications:High level knowledge of Avaya & Cisco telephony architecture and infrastructure is considered an asset. Extensive people-collaboration experience: communication, negotiation, and problem solving at minimum.
