Prep Cook Indeed

We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Prep Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will assist in meal preparation and ensure that all food safety and handling standards are met. This role is essential in maintaining the kitchen's workflow and supporting the overall success of our restaurant operations.

Duties

• Assist in the preparation of ingredients for meals, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
• Follow recipes and instructions from the head chef to ensure consistency in food quality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including workstations and storage areas.
• Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines to ensure safe food handling practices.
• Help with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages.
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal service during busy periods.
• Participate in daily kitchen operations, including cleaning dishes and utensils used during food preparation.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a food service or restaurant environment is required.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices for food handling.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings and weekends as needed.
• A passion for cooking and willingness to learn new techniques in meal preparation.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $15.00-$18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
