Full job description

What is tradewell?

tradewell is the best thing to happen to the skilled trades industry in Canada. We’re a group of ambitious, passionate and committed professionals who are driven to improve new construction in Canada, and provide a better experience for trades professionals across the country.

We’ve experienced the pitfalls and challenges of new construction contracting first hand, and knew there had to be a better way. So, we designed a better business model, and a better company. We’re bringing an improved service to our clients and outsized benefits to our employees, contractors, and partners.

Our mission is to not only drastically improve the trades experience for industry professionals, but to improve the quality, speed and impact of new housing for Canadians nation-wide.

What’s the opportunity?

We are searching for an Area Developer in Calgary whose focus will be to develop strategic sales relationships within new construction, and manage the sales funnel from first contact with client through to project management for first-class execution.

Like us, you believe that people are inherently good, that good people want to do good work, and that good work should be fairly rewarded. You treat everyone with dignity and respect, adhere to transparent and ethical business practices. We are a company that believes in hard work and integrity: we follow through on what we say we’re going to do.

You are first and foremost a self-starter: your motivation is derived from competition, the confidence in exceptional products, and your desire to achieve excellence. You have a strong understanding of new construction contracting, and can identify, or have existing relationships with, key stakeholders. You are an excellent communicator, and confident in your ability to develop relationships. You are comfortable with technology, and are able to quickly learn new programs. You have completed light project management, understand the significance of the following process, and are impeccably organized.

You will:

  • Identify key stakeholders in the construction industry and develop strategic relationships; securing tradewell as the preferred vendor for superior product and service
  • Analyzes and participates in strategic pricing of services offered and products
  • Respond to and prepare unique RFP documents in the Private and Public Sector to projects in the Multi-Family, Mixed-Use, Commercial & Tenant Improvement Markets ranging from $150,000 to $50 Million.
  • Prepares content, layout and branding of all Proposals (RFP's), Expressions of Interest (EOI’s) & Company Documentation.
  • Lead the implementation of client proposals to ensure they meet customer needs and provide the best possible solution.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies that align with corporate interests, objectives, vision and strategic initiatives
  • Develop strong relationships with trade-specialized sub-contractors who specialize; enroll into the tradewell system
  • Maintain a sufficient network of subcontractors to meet the demand of won contracts
  • Project Manage won contracts: complete walkthroughs, prepare punchlists, and brief subcontractors on project parameters in order to deliver a high level of customer satisfaction and client retention.
  • Prepare and submit sales reports, invoices, and QA documentation
  • Manage the performance of your subcontractors, ensuring client concerns are minimized and corrective solutions are implemented
  • Attend trade shows, seminars and industry events
  • Ability to travel in Canada to participate in corporate training and Annual General Meetings
