Red Crow Community College is a First Nations college with locations in Standoff and Lethbridge. Our mission is to meet the cultural, educational, and training needs for Kainaiwa and beyond. The college provides leadership through its programs and service to nurture self-realization based on Kainaissinni. We are currently seeking a Summer Research Assistant to support the Agriculture Research Coordinator by performing field work related to planting, maintaining, and harvesting, including the management of greenhouse operations. Research functions will include gathering, recording, and interpreting data. Testing and experiments will be conducted, including the collection and shipping of samples. Research Assistants deliver services with respect and understanding of Blackfoot culture and participate in activities that promote Kainaissinni. Research Assistants require a high school diploma or a certificate in Agricultural Sciences, Crop Production, or related discipline; 2 years experience in an agricultural or related position is an asset. Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license, demonstrate proficiency in MS programs, particularly Excel, and have experience in data entry and basic statistical analysis. They are analytical, detail-orientated, effective at communicating in both written reports and oral presentations and can work both independently and in a team environment. Physical demands include operating farm machinery and equipment, working in an outside environment and being capable of lifting to 40 lbs. This is a term full-time summer position.
