We have an exciting opportunity for a Seasonal Municipal Worker IV (Equipment Operator) to join our team.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an exciting opportunity for a full-time, seasonal, equipment operator. Working under the direction of a Public Works Foreman, duties include operating heavy equipment in a range of weather conditions on varying surfaces; and performing a variety of other related duties as required.
Our ideal candidate is a self-starter, dependable and possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills. You can work independently and have excellent problem-solving skills and enjoy working in all weather conditions. Compensation for the position is based on education & experience.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate will ideally hold:
· Successful completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED)
· A valid Alberta Class 1 motor vehicle operator’s license with acceptable driving record.
· Previous experience operating motor grader, track hoe, backhoe, loader and other heavy equipment is essential.
· The following valid safety certificates would be an asset: Standard First Aid certificate with CPR; WHMIS; Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Flagging.
· A management approved equivalent of education and experience may be considered.
This position has been identified as Safety Sensitive and requires the completion of a satisfactory pre-employment drug screen.
