Team Leader– Service Coordination Team
Ability Resource Association “Embrace the Possibilities”
The Team Leader works closely with the Services Manager and other Team Leaders and reports to the Services Director. The Services Coordination Team provides intake, orientation, assessment, and planning for people with developmental disabilities in
Community Access and Employment Services. The Team Leader advocates for and supports people who need more specialized or different community resources. The Team
Leader plays a key role in monitoring documentation and data. The Team will represent our agency in the community, providing information about our services. The Team Leader will have an important role in ensuring that our services continue to meet our high accreditation standards.
This position requires:

- Leadership in thinking creatively about the provision of services
- Superior communication, information gathering, and documentation skills, with high written and spoken English language proficiency
- Commitment to providing excellent support to all Client Service Teams
- Excellent skills in interviewing, problem-solving, organizing, scheduling, time management, conflict management, verbal and written communication, data collection, monitoring and reporting, and task completion.
- Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and in coordination with other teams
- Supervisory and leadership skills to support staff on the team and contribute to the Leadership Team
- Development and maintenance of positive working relationships with funding agency staff and community organizations
- Ability to work flexible hours – some evening work may occasionally be required.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree related to Human Services from an accredited post-secondary institution
- Five years experience working with people with disabilities
- Supervisory or Leadership experience in a workplace setting
- Valid class 5 driver’s license with a reliable and safe vehicle for work use at multiple locations
- Current Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check required upon hiring
Preferred Qualifications:
- Specialized training and a minimum of two years experience working with people with significant behavioral support needs
- Non-violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention or equivalent
- Standard First Aid and CPR
