This PosiNon is being offered as a seasonal contract. Hours will range from full-Nme to part-Nme, depending on bookings and tour loop schedules. The successful applicant Salary Range will be $19-$22/ hour based on candidate experience. An employer funded health and benefits package is included.

Tourism Medicine Hat, the Medicine Hat DesNnaNon MarkeNng OrganizaNon Society, is an industry-led non-profit that exists to strengthen Medicine Hat’s tourism profile through desNnaNon awareness. Part of how we do that is by providing excepNonal customer service and authenNc tourism experiences. As driver of the Sunshine Trolley, you will support us in delivering both!

Tourism Medicine Hat is a small and nimble team that conNnues to develop, support, and promote amazing partners, stakeholders and community members throughout Southeast Alberta.

PosiUon Summary:

As driver of our Sunshine Trolley you will be a sunshine ambassador for our community to local residents and guests to our City and region.

The role is responsible for transporNng passengers during our summer tours, school tours and many other tours designed for local residents and visitors too. As the driver you may be invited from Nme to
Nme to provide light tour guide interpretaNon of nearby landscapes and historic elements when the vehicle is stopped.

The Sunshine Trolley Driver works closely with the Safety Officer, ExecuNve Director and our Driving/
Booking Partners to offer a safe and exciNng ride every Nme.

As our Sunshine Trolley Driver you will be the primary team member responsible for pre-and post-trip inspecNons, as well as keeping a driver’s log.

Areas of Responsibility:

• Safe and Nmely driving of large groups of passengers;
• Light tour guide duNes when vehicles are not moving;
• SupporNng the Mandates of Tourism Medicine Hat;

Supervision:

In this posiNon you will receive supervision but are expected to be self-driven and maintain close connecNons with the Safety Officer and the ExecuNve Director.

Minimum Skills and AbiliUes:

• Able to drive both Sunshine Trolley models in a safe and Nmely manner;
• Class 2 Drivers Licence and a clean driving record;
• Willing to do light passenger interacNons while the vehicle is stopped;
• Willing to develop posiNve, respec`ul working relaNonships;
• Ability to learn how to use a wheelchair lia and other lighter pieces of technology;
• Willingness to learn and share about the city’s history and notable landmarks;
• Comfort interacNng with large groups, oaenNmes including children;
• On instances like brewery tours, comfortable and confident interacNng people who have been consuming alcohol

As the Sunshine Trolley Driver you will have ExperUse and Experience in:

• Safe driving;
• Understanding of driving laws/regulaNons;
• Knowledge of the City and how to efficiently get around it;
• Problem solving skills;
• IntuiNve kindness and demonstrable customer service skills

Working CondiUons:

• Driving trolleys with two dozen-plus passengers on board
• This role requires occasional work outside business hours, including weekends and evenings
