Position Summary
At On Side, our Contents Technicians play a vital role in helping clients recover during one of the most challenging stages of an insurance claim.
From carefully packing, handling, cleaning, and restoring valued belongings to returning items to our clients’ properties, our Contents Technicians also help bring comfort, normalcy, and peace of mind back to our clients.
As some of the final team members on site, their attention to detail puts the finishing touches on every project and helps clients take the final step toward recovery.

Compensation
- Salary Range: $21-$25/hour
- On-call premium paid for rotating coverage

What You’ll Do
- Pack, catalog, and clean contents from disaster-affected areas
- Perform pre/post-construction and structural cleaning
- Clean fabrics, textiles, and various surfaces
- Use Encircle Restoration Software for inventory
- Cross training in demolition, water emergencies and rebuild
What You Bring
- Cleaning experience is an asset, particularly in residential, commercial, or restoration environments
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Strong customer service skills with a professional, empathetic, and hardworking approach
- Physically fit, capable of heavy lifting and safety-conscious
- Tech-savvy (comfortable using apps/software)
- Reliable, dependable, and able to work extended hours when required
- Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
- Clear criminal record
- English proficiency, written and spoken

Of Note:
Disasters can strike at any time so a rotating schedule of 24/7 after hours on-call work is a requirement. Meaning you’ll work regular weekday hours and participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule.

Application question(s):
- Restoration work can be dirty. Flooded basements and sewer backups are the norm. Are you able and willing to work in these conditions?
- Are you physically fit? Can you lift 50lbs when required? Are you capable of repetitive heavy lifting? Moving furniture and boxes are the norm in this position so being physically capable is a requirement.

- Are you able to work a rotating on call schedule, responding to emergency calls after regular hours? This on call work is in addition to your scheduled daytime hours, and premium pay as well as overtime will be provided.
- This position requires strong verbal and written English skills to communicate with Project Managers, insured clients, and team members, and to accurately prepare contents inventory documentation for insurance purposes. Please describe your English speaking and spelling proficiency in a professional setting.
- This position requires strength and stamina, packing and moving, detailed cleaning for pre and post construction. Tell us about your cleaning and packing experience and why you are a strong fit for this role.
- Cross training is required for this role. Successful candidates will be trained in Demolition, Water Damage, Remediation and Rebuild. Are you able and willing to train and work in other roles?
