Duties
- Prepare ingredients and assist in meal assembly according to established recipes and standards
- Cook and plate dishes efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen stations, utensils, and equipment to ensure food safety and sanitation standards are met
- Support food handling procedures with proper storage, labeling, and inventory management
- Assist with dishwashing duties to ensure timely cleanup and maintain a hygienic environment
- Follow all safety protocols related to food preparation, knife handling, and equipment use
- Contribute to menu planning by providing input on ingredient availability and preparation techniques when needed
Requirements
- Prior experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments preferred
- Knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen safety practices
- Strong knife skills and ability to handle various kitchen tools safely
- Experience with meal preparation, catering support, or restaurant work is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Understanding of food handling regulations and food safety standards
- Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting kitchen operations
