Job Summary

• The Bakery Clerk prepares and serves bakery items while providing friendly, efficient customer service.
• This role supports daily bakery operations, including food preparation, product presentation, order processing, and maintaining a clean, sanitary work area.
• The ideal candidate is attentive, dependable, and comfortable working with customers, food, and point-of-sale systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, package, and display bakery and other food items according to established procedures.
• Serve customers, answer questions about products, and provide courteous, helpful service.
• Process purchases using a POS system.
• Order taking and keeping the service area stocked and organized.
• Recommend products and use appropriate upselling techniques to support customer needs.
• Follow food handling and food safety practices, including proper storage and temperature control.
• Clean and sanitize counters, utensils, equipment, and work areas throughout the shift.
• Manage tasks efficiently while balancing customer service, food preparation, and other daily duties.

Experience

• Food service, restaurant, serving, kitchen, or other food industry experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with food preparation and customer service is an asset.
• Familiarity with POS systems is helpful
• Attention to detail are needed to follow recipes or portioning instructions.
• Knowledge of food safety, food handling, and sanitation practices is preferred.
• Strong time management, communication, and teamwork skills are valued.

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24.0 per week
