Job Summary
We are currently seeking experienced and safety-focused Class 1 Truck Drivers to haul frac sand and oilfield equipment to and from various job sites. This is a safety-sensitive role requiring strong driving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in demanding conditions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting oilfield operations through safe, efficient, and timely transportation of materials.
Key Responsibilities
· Operate Class 1 tractor-trailer units to transport oilfield equipment (flatbeds and specialized trailers)
· Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections
· Safely load, secure, and unload materials (including hoses, chains, and binders)
· Operate pneumatic systems for sand transfer (training provided if needed)
· Adhere to all transportation regulations and safety requirements (NSC, Hours of Service, load securement, traffic laws)
· Communicate effectively with dispatch and field personnel regarding schedules, job requirements, and any issues encountered during transit
· Complete and maintain accurate trip logs, driver logs, delivery records, and freight documentation
· Maintain equipment, keep equipment clean and operable including trucks, perform basic troubleshooting, and report mechanical issues promptly
· Assist if needed with the operation of heavy equipment related to freight handling when required
Qualifications
- Valid commercial Class 1 (CDL) Driver’s License
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Must have experience with Super B's
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience (oilfield experience preferred)
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and compliance standards for commercial drivers.
- Ability and willing to travel out of town, including overnight jobs as need basis
- Experience with:
- Pneumatic trailers and/or flatdeck hauling (asset)
- Driving in rural, off-road, or oilfield environments
- Valid safety tickets (or willingness to obtain):
- H2S Alive
- First Aid/CPR
- TDG (Transportation of Dangerous Goods)
Pre-employment requirements may include:
· Drug & alcohol testing (as this is a safety-sensitive role)
· Fitness-for-duty assessment
Working Conditions
- Work takes place in remote oilfield locations and on highways
- Exposure to:
- Extreme weather (heat, cold, snow, wind)
- Dust and noisy environments
- Uneven, muddy, or icy terrain
- Extended driving hours and rotating shifts
- This is a safety-sensitive position
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods (long-haul driving)
- Frequent climbing (into cab, trailers, ladders)
- Lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs minimum
- Pushing/pulling hoses, straps, and equipment
- Bending, twisting, crouching, and working in confined or awkward positions
- Working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physical ability to load, unload, and secure freight; capable of lifting heavy items when necessary.
