We are currently seeking an experienced Driller/Blaster for a contract opportunity supporting mining operations at a remote site in the Northwest Territories. This is a fly-in, fly-out position operating on a 2-weeks-on, 2-weeks-off rotation, with both day and night shifts required. Camp accommodations, meals, and flights are provided. The pay rate is $44.00/hour , with overtime paid after 8 hours per day, averaging $51.33/hour over a 12-hour shift . This contract is scheduled to start next week and will run for an indeterminate time. Qualified candidates must have experience operating drill equipment such as the SmartROC D65, Tamrock Sandvik Ranger DX800 Top Hammer, Sandvik D90 Rotary, DM45, DTH , or similar production drilling equipment. Previous mining experience and a strong commitment to safety are required.

This role provides technical support and coaching to assist the department and the company to strive to achieve their goals of "ZERO HARM"
Main Accountabilities:
- Perform all tasks assigned by the Supervisor
- To safely operate various heavy equipment units as have been trained and certified on.
- To follow all procedures and policies as set by the company.
- To fill out all forms required for daily operation of an assigned unit.
- To follow the Safety Plan as specified by the company and to accept the training to do so.
- Perform pre and post-operational checks of equipment as well as assisting and performing the basic care and maintenance on equipment as may be required.
- Operation of equipment for 12 hour long daily shifts for a two week period
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Language: Speak English, Read English, Write English (Inuktitut would be an asset).
- Proven track record in safe work practices.
Main Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in mine blast hole drilling with down the hole hammer production drill experience.
- Must have demonstrated ability to work individually and as a team.
- Must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
- Experience working in day and night shift, be physically fit to work in arctic climate and adverse conditions.
- Incorporates HS&E concepts into work activities and demonstrates concern for others health & safety (co-workers, clients, and sub trades).
- Leadership as well as interpersonal, organizational and conflict resolution skills.
- Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude. Able to develop and foster a team environment
- Thorough working knowledge and understanding of efficient mining practices, procedures and regulations.
