Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and organized Front Desk Manager to lead our front desk operations during the busy season. As the first point of contact for guests, you will oversee check-ins, reservations, and guest services to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience. This role is perfect for someone with a passion for hospitality, strong leadership skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily front desk operations, ensuring smooth check-ins, check-outs, and guest interactions.
- Train, schedule, and manage front desk staff to maintain high customer service standards.
- Handle reservations, inquiries, and guest concerns professionally and efficiently.
- Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure room readiness and guest satisfaction.
- Manage booking systems, process payments, and maintain accurate records.
- Address guest feedback and resolve issues to enhance the overall guest experience.
- Ensure compliance with resort policies and health & safety regulations.
- Assist with end-of-season closing procedures.
- Manage invoicing for tour companies, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
- Work closely with other department managers, including the Food and Beverage Manager, Operations Manager, and General Manager, to coordinate meal times for tour groups.
- Manage and coordinate rooming lists for large group bookings and tour companies to ensure accuracy and a seamless guest experience.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in front desk management, hotel operations, or a similar hospitality role.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in reservation and booking software (e.g., Opera, RoomMaster, or similar).
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during peak season.
- Strong customer service mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor.
- Must be available for the full season (May–October) and comfortable working flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Experience handling large group bookings and tour reservations, including coordinating rooming lists.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a resort, lodge, or seasonal hospitality setting.
- Knowledge of the Waterton Park area and local attractions.
- CPR/First Aid certification is a plus.
