  • Perform engineering calculations including load flow, arc flash, fault current, coordination, and power system studies.
  • Prepare single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, equipment specifications, and engineering calculations.
  • Complete field investigations, site audits, construction reviews, and commissioning support.
  • Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, engineering estimates, and project proposals.
  • Develop equipment specifications, material take-offs, and capital cost estimates.
  • Coordinate electrical engineering deliverables with multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and project execution activities.
  • Assist with mentoring junior engineers and designers.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting business development initiatives.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with applicable codes, standards, company procedures, and health & safety requirements.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or completion of an Electrical Engineering Technologist program with relevant engineering experience.

  • 4–9 years of electrical engineering experience within a consulting environment.
  • Experience designing low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems.
  • Experience performing power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash analysis.
  • Experience with industrial electrical systems, motor control centres (MCCs), transformers, switchgear, cable sizing, grounding, and electrical equipment selection.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
  • Experience supporting projects from design through construction and commissioning.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Experience with substations, grounding systems, or high-voltage overhead transmission lines.
  • Experience working within mining, oil sands, refining, gas processing, pipelines, power generation, pulp & paper, municipal utilities, or water treatment facilities.
  • Experience with electrical studies using ETAP, EasyPower, SKM, or similar software.
  • Previous consulting engineering experience on multidisciplinary industrial projects.

Why This Firm

  • Opportunity to work on technically challenging projects across multiple heavy industrial sectors.
  • Exposure to mining, oil & gas, utilities, pipelines, municipal infrastructure, water treatment, and energy projects.
  • Hybrid work environment with flexibility to balance office and remote work.
  • Competitive compensation package with performance-based rewards.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Collaborative multidisciplinary team environment with strong technical mentorship.
  • Ongoing professional development and career growth opportunities.
  • Opportunity to contribute throughout the full project lifecycle, from concept through commissioning.
