Responsibilities
Primary duties will vary by season and include:

  • Business development, project estimation and implementation.
  • Coordinating nursery stock production to meet reforestation schedules.
  • Developing site specific prescriptions to establish free to grow reforestation on reclaimed disturbances.
  • Manage planting subcontractors, on-site supervision and quality assurance.
  • Providing post-planting monitoring of the reforestation stock on reclamation sites.
  • Maintaining responsive client communication and reporting through all stages of the project.
  • Assisting the financial controller with client invoicing and other duties as required.

Competencies and Experience

  • Proven silvicultural experience in a forestry or reclamation setting is required.
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Forestry or a related Natural Resource Management discipline (eligible for professional designation).
  • Strong project management skills, including costing and developing completion timelines.
  • Proven leadership and the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and a small team.
  • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Client management and subcontractor supervision.
    • Seed and vegetative material collection and processing.
    • Nursery stock production and reforestation monitoring.

Offering

  • Competitive salary and benefits, based on experience.
  • Flexible work schedule.
  • Positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Meaningful and impactful work that contributes to the restoration of forest environments.

If you are passionate about reclamation, forestry, and making an impact on the environment, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!
