Job Overview Brooklyn Dumpling Shop is seeking an experienced and hands-on Store Manager to lead daily restaurant operations and drive strong store performance. The ideal candidate is a people-focused leader with a solid understanding of QSR or restaurant operations, cost control, and local marketing. This role is responsible for delivering excellent guest experiences while managing labour, food costs, inventory, and team development.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Guest Experience
- Oversee daily store operations to ensure smooth, efficient service during all shifts
- Ensure all food safety, health, and sanitation standards are consistently met
- Maintain high standards for food quality, speed of service, cleanliness, and brand presentation
- Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues in a timely manner
Team Leadership & Training
- Recruit, onboard, train, and develop team members and supervisors
- Build and maintain strong team morale and accountability
- Schedule staff efficiently based on sales forecasts and labour targets
- Conduct performance check-ins and provide ongoing coaching and feedback
- Ensure all staff follow company SOPs and operational standards
Labour & Cost Control
- Manage labour costs to meet weekly targets while maintaining service standards
- Monitor and control COGS through proper portioning, prep, waste reduction, and inventory practices
- Review weekly sales, labour, and cost reports and take corrective action as needed
Inventory & Ordering
- Manage inventory levels, ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
- Ensure accurate counts, proper storage, and minimal waste
- Work with approved vendors to maintain product availability and cost efficiency
Local Store Marketing (LSM)
- Execute local store marketing initiatives to drive foot traffic and sales
- Support promotions, community partnerships, and in-store marketing efforts
- Collaborate with head office on campaigns, events, and third-party delivery promotions
Cash Handling & Administration
- Oversee cash handling, deposits, and POS accuracy
- Ensure compliance with cash control procedures and company policies
- Maintain accurate records for sales, inventory, labour, and operational reporting
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a restaurant or QSR Manager (minimum 2 years preferred)
- Strong understanding of labour management, COGS, and inventory control
- Experience training, leading, and motivating teams in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable using POS systems and basic reporting tools
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
