This position reports to Supervisor, Safety & Security and is responsible for performing guard and patrol duties in assigned areas to protect life and property against theft, misappropriation, and disasters in compliance with government and management directives.
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Gate Management: You will be stationed at the entrance gate or checkpoint to regulate entry and exit of vehicles, equipment, and personnel. You may need to operate a gate barrier or manage a sign-in/sign-out process.
- Identification Verification: Check identification documents, such as employee badges, visitor passes, or driver's licenses, to verify the identity of individuals entering the site. Ensure that only authorized personnel gain access.
- Visitor Management: Keep track of visitors by issuing temporary passes, logging their details, and providing appropriate instructions or escorts. Escort visitors to their designated areas and ensure they are accompanied while on site.
- Contractor Management: Oversee the entry and exit of contractors, subcontractors, and their employees. Ensure they have the necessary permits, licenses, and safety training to work on the site.
- Equipment and Material Control: Monitor the movement of construction equipment, tools, and materials. Record their entry and exit from the site and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
- Security Checks: Conduct inspections of vehicles, bags, and packages to prevent unauthorized items from being brought onto the site. Follow security protocols, including metal detectors or X-ray machines, if available.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with site supervisors, security personnel, and other relevant parties. Report any security breaches, suspicious activities, or safety hazards promptly.
- Emergency Response: Be familiar with emergency procedures and evacuation plans. Assist in managing emergencies, such as fires, accidents, or medical incidents, by directing personnel and coordinating with emergency services.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of access control activities, including visitor logs, incident reports, and daily activity reports. Keep track of any incidents, security breaches, or policy violations.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure that everyone entering the site complies with safety regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safety guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Security related experience
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
- Valid Security Guard license
- Strong work ethic.
- Strong morals and highest level of integrity.
- Quick decision-making skills.
- Strong ability to problem-solve.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work alone and in a team environment
- Strong physical ability to assist in the arrest and detainment of suspects.
