Description
Job Purpose:
To assist the Food Services Supervisor in all activities of the kitchen.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation
a. Prepare and cook food in accordance with the menu plans provided by the Manager.
b. Maintain high standards of food safety including activities assigned by Manager (i.e. temperature checks).
c. Provide direction to the volunteers in food preparation
2. Catering
a. Prepare and deliver coffee and food orders
b. Assist in meal preparation and serving at special events
3. Cleaning
a. Oversee dishwasher volunteers and, when required, perform this duty.
b. Clean all food preparation and storage areas including fridge, stove, counters and walls to a high sanitary standard. This includes main kitchen and gym canteen.
4. Manager Relief
a. Manage the kitchen when the Manager is not present.
5. Other Duties
a. Act as relief cashier when required including cashout at end of day.
b. Attend committee meetings
c. Maintain high food quality and superior customer service.

Job Requirements:
Education:
- Grade 12. Other courses or training an asset.
- 1-2 years previous cooking experience
- Basic computer skills an asset.

- Food Safety and Sanitation Course
- Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission Proserve Course
- First Aid and CPR
- WHMIS
Working Hours:
Work is in a fully operational kitchen. Casual shifts are as negotiated. Job can be physically taxing: requires heavy lifting and standing for long periods.

Salary: $17.00 per hour
