Job Summary
The Director of Finance is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial health and stability of the organization. This position involves managing financial planning, analysis, and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and guiding the company’s financial growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in corporate finance, risk management, and business development to support long-term organizational success.
Duties
- Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Oversee accounting functions including bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and account reconciliation.
- Manage budgeting processes and monitor financial performance against budgets.
- Conduct risk analysis and develop risk management strategies to mitigate financial exposure.
- Lead investment activities and evaluate potential investment opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards across all departments.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to finance team members, fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on business development initiatives to identify growth opportunities.
- Prepare detailed financial reports for stakeholders, including executive summaries and forecasts.
- Manage cost control measures to optimize operational efficiency.
Skills
- Extensive experience in accounting, corporate finance, and financial services.
- Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, account reconciliation, budgeting, and cost management.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to guide teams and influence organizational strategy.
- Expertise in risk analysis and risk management practices.
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in financial data interpretation.
- Ability to develop business development strategies that align with organizational objectives.
- Proficiency in financial software systems and tools used for investment analysis and reporting.
- Effective communication skills for presenting complex financial information clearly to stakeholders.
- Experience with ecommerce considered an asset.

Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Business/ Accounting
- CPA required
