Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Flooring Installer Apprentice to join our team and gain hands-on experience in flooring installation. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in construction, tile laying, and carpentry under the guidance of experienced professionals. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, dependable, and interested in building a career in the flooring and construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation and layout of flooring projects according to blueprints and specifications
- Learn to operate hand tools and basic construction equipment safely and effectively
- Support senior installers in measuring, cutting, and fitting flooring materials such as tile, hardwood, or laminate
- Help with surface preparation, including cleaning and leveling subfloors
- Participate in the installation process, including laying tile, vinyl, or other flooring materials
- Assist with caulking, sealing, and finishing work to ensure a professional appearance
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow all safety protocols and instructions from supervisors during all phases of installation
Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and construction practices preferred but not required; willingness to learn is essential
- Prior experience in flooring installation, tile laying, carpentry, or handyman work is a plus
- Ability to read blueprints or technical drawings is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided
- Strong work ethic with attention to detail and safety standards
- Reliable transportation to job sites and ability to work outdoors in various conditions
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during installation tasks
- Eagerness to learn new skills within the flooring and construction trades
Pay: $19.00-$24.00 per hour
