Full job description
Reporting to the Meat Manager, the Meat Cutter is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, preparing cuts of meat, poultry, and seafood, merchandising, pricing, and displaying packaged meat and in store made value add items. The Meat Cutter also assists the Meat Manager with ordering and ensuring all meat standards and procedures are adhered to. This position practices good housekeeping and sanitation duties while maintaining department cleanliness, and safety standards and any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications : Must be at least 18 years of age and must possess a minimum of two years relevant meat cutting experience, preferably within a retail environment or an acceptable combination of education and experience.
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent; or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- Must have a minimum of 2+ years of meat cutting experience.
- Meat cutter certification preferred, or willing to obtain within 12 months of employment
- Ability to undertake primary tasks within a refrigerated temperature environment ( at 7 degrees Celsius) or in the freezer.
- Repetitive physical labour required; must be able to lift to 50 lbs. within safe work guidelines
- Ability to manually handle weights between 10-70 lbs. within safe work guidelines
- Required to be on one's feet for an extended period
- Manual dexterity and strength for cutting with knives, and operating equipment safely
- Knowledge of ordering and receiving procedures desired
- Excellent internal and external customer service skills
- High level of integrity and work ethic
- Ability to respond quickly in a dynamic and changing environment

Availability: Full availability, days required, evenings required and weekends required.
