Duties
- Assist in food preparation by chopping, slicing, assembling ingredients, and following recipes to ensure quality standards are met
- Support the cooking process by operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently under supervision
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly
- Help with food handling procedures in accordance with food safety regulations to ensure hygiene and quality
- Support serving staff by preparing plates or trays for delivery or dine-in service
- Assist with stock rotation, inventory management, and restocking supplies as needed
- Follow health and safety guidelines diligently to uphold a safe working environment for all team members
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is essential
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and support guest needs
- Basic knowledge of food handling safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with POS systems such as Micros POS or cash handling is a plus but not mandatory
- Hospitality or hotel experience can be advantageous for understanding guest service expectations
- A positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to take on various kitchen tasks are key qualities for success in this role
