Full job description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and adaptable Accounts Payable / Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our team. This role is primarily focused on Accounts Payable, with secondary responsibilities supporting Accounts Receivable and assisting our retail store team with customer service when needed.
This position reports directly to the Financial Controller and works closely with the operations and purchasing team to ensure accurate and timely financial processing.

Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (Primary Focus):
- Process high volumes of vendor invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match invoices to purchase orders and receiving documents
- Prepare and process payments (cheques, EFTs, etc.)
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized and up-to-date AP records
Accounts Receivable (Secondary):
- Assist with invoicing and customer account maintenance
- Process customer payments and apply them accurately
- Support collections and follow-up on outstanding balances
Collaboration & Support
- Work closely with the Operation/Purchasing Manager to create and process purchase invoices
- Assist with additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned by the Financial Controller
Retail & Customer Support:
- Provide backup support to the retail store when required
- Assist customers with professionalism and a positive attitude
- Help maintain a welcoming and service-focused environment
Qualifications & Skills
- Diploma in Accounting (required)
- Minimum 2+ years experience in Accounts Payable/Receivable processing
- Proficiency with Sage 50 Quantum accounting software (required)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Customer service experience is considered an asset
