This position is a temporary, 16-week position with full time hours (35 hours/week) $16.50 per hour.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Learning and assisting with bank reconciliations
· Assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable
· Tracking and reconciling fixed assets
· Assisting the finance team with various projects
Requirements:
· Clear and current Criminal Record Check or one that is acceptable to the Executive Director
· A positive attitude and belief that persons with disabilities have the right and responsibility to define and act on their life choices and seek active participation in the community
· A willingness to learn while being exposed to all aspects of Finance
· Ability to co-operate and assist other co-workers with various projects
· Accounting education from a post-secondary institute is considered an asset
This position is funded through Canada Summer Job grant program, and eligibility criteria are as follows:
· Must be between the ages of 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
· Must be a Canadian Citizen, permanent resident, or person on whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act*
· Must have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
