Overview
We are seeking reliable and motivated Driver(s) (Independent Contractors) to join our team, both individual people and/or driver teams.
With our growing needs in Medicine Hat and our expansion plans to open in surrounding communities, we are seeking to contract drivers and teams.
In this role, you will be responsible for transporting our customer vehicles safely and efficiently. Most often, the customer is present, but not always. We drive customer vehicles for a variety of reasons in all weather and driving conditions:
- Designated Driver
- Appointment Driver - medical, vision, senior assist
- Vehicle relocation - city limits and long distance possible
- Mechanical appointment pick up /drop off
As an independent contractor, you will have the flexibility to manage your own availability within the structure of our dispatching hours.
This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills as well as fantastic customer service. We not only strive to provide a service but an experience that keeps our customers loyal!
Duties
- Operate vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to transport our customer vehicles from point A to point B. (with or without the customer)
- Maintain records of trips, including customer information, logs of mileage, fuel consumption, forms of payment and delivery times through the accurate use of the apps required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving.
- Ensure safety of yourself, your customer and the public at large.
- Have fun and be engaging, courteous and thoughtful to our customers
- Teamwork
Requirements
- Unrestricted, Valid AB Class 5 driver’s license with minimum 10 years driving experience for Customer Drivers.
- Unrestricted, Valid AB Class 5 driver’s license with minimum 3 years driving experience for Chase Drivers.
- Clean driving record - 3 year abstract required for either role.
- As a Chase driver, if you are using your own vehicle, you must prove vehicle ownership with registration, appropriate insurance coverage - collision, minimum 2 million liability.
- As a Customer driver you are not required to own a vehicle, you will be paired with a Chase Driver if you are not hired as a team.
- Your own mobile device with data and ability to download the required free apps for duties, tracking and communication during your work.
- Customer Drivers - Willingness to operate a vehicle with a blow box, accessible alterations, pull trailers, ability to confidently drive all makes, models, and value ranges of vehicles. Knowledge, experience and confidence to drive manual transmission vehicle preferred.
- Dynamic experience in customer care required.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on safety first and customer satisfaction.
- Ability to de-escalate if necessary and serve customers who are under the influence.
- Excellent time management skills, knowledge of the city address grid to ensure timely, safe trips.
