ServiceMaster Restore of Medicine Hat is a locally owned and operated division of the ServiceMaster Franchise. We specialize in Emergency Services after floods, fires, natural disasters and traumas with both commercial and personal properties. We are currently hiring a Restoration/Demolition Technician, someone who is looking for long term work and also interested in required courses to become a Water Technician and more. Applicant will be working on the Emergency side of the business as well as the Rebuild of properties.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Water Technician/Demolition Technician to join our restoration and construction team. This role involves responding to emergency services involving water and fire losses. As the first on site your role will involve being compassionate with the homeowner and their situation. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, has excellent people skills, physically capable, and comfortable working in fast-paced, hands-on environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to residential and commercial water-damage and fire-damage calls.
• Perform water extraction, moisture mapping, and drying equipment setup.
• Document affected areas and job progress using company software.
• Maintain and clean extraction units, air movers, dehumidifiers, and tools.

Demolition

• Perform selective interior demolition (drywall, flooring, cabinets, framing, etc.).
• Assist in structural tear-outs while maintaining job-site safety.
• Operate hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently.
• Sort and dispose of materials according to regulations.
• Must have basic knowledge of tools and home construction.

General

• Follow safety protocols, PPE requirements, and company procedures.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in on-call rotation for emergency response work.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in water mitigation, demolition, construction, or restoration preferred (not required).
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in varied environments (heights, confined spaces, wet conditions, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
• Clean Criminal Record Check and must be bondable
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn.
• IICRC WRT certification a plus but not required.

Schedule

• Monday–Friday with overtime opportunities.
• On-call evenings/weekends on a rotating basis.

JOB TYPE AND WAGE

We are looking to hire a full-time employee. Wage will be contingent upon experience.
