Position Title: Harvesting Labourer
Overview:
Big Marble Farms is looking for motivated and reliable individuals to join our greenhouse team. No formal education or prior experience is required — we will provide full training. This is an on-site position that involves physical, hands-on work in a fast-paced agricultural environment.
Work Environment:
Work takes place in a greenhouse environment and at various locations. Conditions may include:
- Working at heights
- Wet/damp or hot conditions
- Dusty or dirty environments
Duties & Responsibilities:
As a General Farm Worker, you will be responsible for tasks related to greenhouse operations and crop handling, including:
- Cleaning crops and work areas
- Sorting and dividing harvested produce into marketable and non-marketable lots
- Grading vegetables and fruit by size, shape, colour, and volume
- Greenhouse cleaning and sanitation
- Hand-harvesting vegetables
- Planting, cultivating, and irrigating crops
- Maintaining vine growth, canopy, and overall plant health
- Fertilizing, spraying, and mixing fertilizers
- Packing fruits and vegetables
- Operating hand tools and sprayer/duster equipment
Types of Crops:
- Bell peppers
- Cucumbers
- Tomatoes
- Other vegetables
Requirements:
- Transportation

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work independently
- Fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Repetitive tasks
- Handling heavy loads (up to 23 kg / 50 lbs)
- Bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
- Walking throughout the day
- Strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
- Ability to distinguish between colours
