POSITION OVERVIEW
We’re looking for a part-time Health and Safety Administrator to support our team in maintaining client safety management systems aligned with Alberta OHS legislation and related regulations. This role offers hands-on experience with real clients and is ideal for someone with foundational H&S knowledge who is eager to learn and grow.
The successful candidate will work alongside an H&S Consultant, assisting with compliance documentation, training coordination, and system management. This is a development-focused role with the goal of progressing into an H&S Coordinator, and eventually, a Health & Safety Consultant, managing your own client accounts under KMP Safety Ltd.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare handouts for orientations and training sessions
- Update and maintain training records via WorkHub, Site Docs, Salus Pro, and Excel
- Print training tickets for in-house sessions and book third-party training
- Assist with new employee WHMIS and orientation training
- Prepare digital and physical training files for new hires
- Run monthly reports to collect safety documentation (e.g., inspections, hazard assessments)
- Create Toolbox Talks and Safety Meeting Minutes
- Set up safety files for new projects, including Safety Data Sheets and SWPs/SJPs
- Support the maintenance of safety compliance platforms (ISNetworld, ComplyWorks, Avetta)
- Assist with incident investigations and special projects

- Knowledge of COR programs and COR Internal Auditor certification (asset)
- Experience with WCB claims management (asset)
- Fleet management knowledge (asset)
- Ability to collaborate effectively in various workplace settings

WORKING CONDITIONS
· Work model: On site client locations within the Medicine Hat local area
· Flexible weekday schedule: Monday to Friday with negotiable workdays
· Safety-sensitive position: Drug and alcohol screening required
· Driver’s licence: Valid licence and reliable transportation required
· Eligibility: Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
This role will initially be job shadowing and supporting the Health & Safety Consultant with administrative and project-based tasks. As you grow in the position, build familiarity and confidence there will be increased opportunities to visit client sites on your own.
The position involves periods of focused computer work, task management, and document handling. You must be able to sit for extended periods and lift up to 20 pounds as needed. Regular collaboration with the H&S Consultant and communication with clients is essential for success in this role.
