Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman/Woman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing fire alarm and electrical systems across various industrial and commercial settings. This Job Location is in and around Crowsnest Pass AB. Your expertise will ensure the safety, efficiency, and reliability of electrical infrastructure, supporting our commitment to excellence and innovation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, from new construction to renovation and upgrades, utilizing your technical skills and hands-on experience to make a tangible impact.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams to guide installation and repair work.
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems including low voltage wiring, power distribution, lighting, and control panels.
- Work with industrial electrical systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation equipment to optimize operational performance.
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively to complete electrical tasks with precision.
- Conduct renovations by upgrading existing electrical infrastructure while ensuring compliance with safety standards and codes.
- Diagnose electrical issues efficiently through systematic troubleshooting techniques to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with construction teams on new builds or modifications, ensuring seamless integration of electrical components.
Requirements
- Valid journeyman/woman electrician license or certification demonstrating comprehensive electrical knowledge.
- Proven experience working as an electrician in industrial or construction environments.
- Strong ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams accurately.
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Knowledge of low voltage systems and automation controls such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Familiarity with renovation projects involving complex electrical upgrades or modifications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with a proactive approach to safety procedures.
- Additional handyman experience or general construction skills are a plus for versatile project support.
