City Veterinary Hospital is seeking a part-time Kennel Assistant that is positive, self-motivated, and energetic to join our growing small animal practice. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for animals, remain calm under pressure and can handle the physical aspects the job requires. The main goal of a Kennel Assistant is to provide a high standard of sanitation and monitor animal behavior while ensuring our hospital is a safe and enjoyable working environment.

Job Duties:
- Daily cleaning of all kennels, food dishes, rooms and tools as needed
- Maintain cleanliness of entire hospital
- Daily laundry duties
- Feeding and watering of all animals in kennels
- Regular observation of all animals in hospital for health problems and reporting any health concerns to the Veterinarian or Veterinary Technician
- Help perform animal care duties, such as nail clipping
- Transport animals from the kennels to the front office area
- Take dogs outside for a walk as required
- Responsible for checking supplies of food, litter, miscellaneous items and notifying the Operations Manager, when products are low, and need to be reordered
- Responsible for performing duties in a professional, proactive manner in order to achieve and maintain high quality care of all kenneled animals, and providing excellent customer service to the public.
- Any other assigned duties to help workflow
Requirements:
- Previous kennel or animal care experience will be considered an asset
- Must possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Must have a genuine interest in and concern for the overall well-being of animals and demonstrate empathy and compassion
- Must be able to work closely with other staff, in a positive, practical manner
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Salary: $15.00-$17.00 per hour
