Job Overview
This temporary summer position offers a meaningful, hands-on experience in a welcoming senior living community. The successful candidate will support recreational programming, community events, and technology assistance for residents while gaining valuable experience in community engagement, communications, and program support.
Working alongside a supportive team, you’ll help create fun, inclusive experiences for seniors through activities, events, and one‑on‑one interactions. This role is ideal for a student who enjoys working with people, is comfortable learning new skills, and is interested in community, recreation, health, or social services. No two days are the same, and your work will make a real, positive impact on residents’ daily lives.
This is a short-term summer role designed to build practical skills, confidence, and experience in a caring, community-focused environment.
This position is supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program, helping create meaningful summer opportunities. Applicant must be between 15 - 30 years of age.

Duties
- Create easy‑to‑use digital floor plans for all CV suites.
- Help research similar organizations using a “Secret Shopper” approach.
- Assist with designing and putting together a fundraising brochure.
- Support residents one‑on‑one with video calling, messaging, and safe internet use.
- Create simple, step‑by‑step “how‑to” tech guides and host casual drop‑in Tech Tea sessions.
Experience
- Experience in digital marketing with a strong understanding in keyword research tools, Google Analytics, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, HTML/CSS/JavaScript is highly desirable.
- Experience managing Facebook Advertising campaigns and email marketing initiatives.
- Strong graphic design skills and digital marketing analytics tools.
- Prior experience in developing integrated marketing campaigns that leverage multiple digital channels effectively.
- Enjoys working with people and is friendly, patient, and respectful.
- Willingness to learn, take initiative, and try new tasks.
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work as part of a team.
- Successful candidate will be required to submit a current, clear Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check no older than 3 months. This cost will be covered by Chinook Village.
