Position Title: YARD WORKER | DELIVERY DRIVER
Job Type: FULL TIME
Location: MEDICINE HAT
Compensation: TO BE DETERMINED – based on experience
IMPORTANT REQUIREMENTS: Must be over 25 years of age (insurance coverage) & be willing to provide 3 years of reportable insurance history along with a clean driver’s abstract.

SUMMARY OF POSITION
The Yard Worker/Driver is critical to the successful operation of a Windsor Plywood Store. They are responsible for products & materials entering, storing & leaving the Yard. This includes responsibility for sorting, picking, replenishment, yard cleaning, transfers, and inventory control. The Yard Worker is driven to produce high-paced quality results that create positive first impressions for customers upon entering the yard. In addition, the main role requires pickups and deliveries but when the schedule is open, that role would transition into Yard. No special endorsement required. Estimate 15% - 20% of the time will be spent driving.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure every customer experience exceeds the customer’s expectations – go the extra-mile”
- Shipping & Receiving | Ensuring all inventory leaving/entering Yard has appropriate paper-work
- Order picking, pulling, palletizing, and staging
- Loading & unloading of Transport Trucks, and Customer vehicles
- Assist with loading and unloading delivery vehicles scheduled for job-site deliveries
- Assisting Contractors and other customers with locating products in the Store
- Operate Forklift & Delivery Vehicle in a diligent, professional & safe manner
- Assist with maintenance of equipment, buildings and landscaping onsite
- Actively monitor material organization, stocking levels, & accuracy in Yard
- Diligently follow Check-lists, policies, processes & procedures
- Maintain a safe & positive work-environment
- Accompanies and assists delivery drivers with the delivery of customer orders
- Manages cutting orders for customers and co-workers utilizing woodworking & power tools provided onsite
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum Grade 12 Education | Prior Building-Yard experience is an asset
- Class 5 driver’s license is required with 3 years of reportable insurance history along with a clean driving abstract.
- Due to commercial insurance policy requirements, candidates must be at least 25 years of age to be considered for this position
- Applicants with prior Building Material Supply experience will be given preference. However, applicants will professional skills from other industries will be strongly considered and provided industry training from Windsor Plywood.
- Experience driving a cube van would be preferred.
- Strong work ethic and self-motivated/self-directed, with an ability to work independently using sound judgment, logical reasoning skills, and intuition
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively, always mindful of the customer
- Flexible, honest, acting in all situations with professionalism and integrity
- Able to deal with changes, delays, or unexpected events in a professional & timely manner
- Permanent resident of Canada
