Sun City Hotels Ltd is entering an exciting phase of growth. As the proud operator of the award-winning Best Western Premier / Executive Residency, currently ranked the #1 hotel in Medicine Hat, we have built a reputation for exceptional guest service, elevated experiences, and outstanding results.
In May, we will be expanding our portfolio with the addition of a newly acquired hotel, which will undergo a full repositioning and rebrand as we set it on a path to become another award-winning property. With construction of a third hotel beginning this August, Sun City Hotels Ltd is rapidly evolving into a multi-property hospitality leader in the region.
We are seeking to add another dynamic, results-driven Hotel Sales Manager to play a key role in driving revenue across our growing portfolio.
This is a full-time position reporting to the General Manager and working closely with the sales and marketing team.
Please note: Candidates must already reside in the Medicine Hat area.
Your Role:
As Hotel Sales Manager, you will drive revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives while specializing in aggressive SMERF (Social, Military, Educational, Religious, Fraternal) group business development. You'll leverage social media marketing to expand our digital presence, develop relationships with key accounts, and coordinate with our Director of Corporate Sales and Marketing Coordinator to deliver exceptional client experiences. This position combines traditional sales leadership with modern digital marketing strategies to maximize function space utilization and group bookings.
Key Responsibilities:
- SMERF Business Development: Actively prospect, negotiate, and secure Social, Military, Educational, Religious, and Fraternal group bookings, focusing on shoulder seasons and off-peak periods to optimize occupancy.
- Social Media Marketing Leadership: Develop and execute strategic social media campaigns to drive SMERF group awareness, create engaging content showcasing function spaces, and manage online community engagement.
- Sales Strategy Execution: Implement sales plans to achieve revenue targets, conduct market analysis, and identify new business opportunities in collaboration with the Director of Sales and Marketing.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with group planners, corporate clients, and SMERF organization leaders through strategic networking and exceptional service delivery.
- Function Space Sales: Promote and sell meeting rooms, banquet facilities, and event spaces through targeted outreach, site inspections, and customized proposal development.
- Contract Negotiation: Prepare proposals, negotiate group rates and contracts, and ensure all agreements align with hotel revenue goals and policies.
- Collaborative Coordination: Work closely with the Event and Sales Coordinator to ensure seamless execution of group events and maintain consistent client communication throughout the booking process.
- Performance Analysis: Track sales metrics, analyze campaign performance, prepare reports for management, and adjust strategies based on market trends and results.

Hotel Sales Manager Requirements and Qualifications:
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3-5 years of hotel sales experience, preferably with SMERF group specialization and proven track record of achieving sales targets.
- Demonstrated experience in social media marketing, content creation, and digital campaign management.
- Advanced communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with ability to influence decision-makers.
- Proficiency in hotel management systems, CRM software, and social media management platforms.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and campaign performance metrics.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience selling to SMERF market segments with understanding of group booking patterns and budget constraints.
- Professional certifications in digital marketing, sales, or hospitality management.
- Knowledge of function space management and event coordination.
- Experience with revenue management principles and yield optimization strategies.
