Structural Truss Systems specializes in the design, manufacturing, and transportation of custom roof trusses, floor systems, and wall panels for every size of residential, commercial, and agricultural projects. We operate out of over 38,000 square feet of manufacturing facility in Fort MacLeod, AB, just 25 minutes west of Lethbridge, AB.

We are currently looking to fill the following opportunity at our indoor, year round manufacturing facility:


The forklift operator contributes to Structural Truss Systems production manufacturing team by moving and loading trusses according to Standard Work Operating Procedures.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Operate industrial forklift to transport materials to and from storage areas, workstations, and yard.
  • Check work orders to verify product is in the correct areas according to Logistics procedures
  • Sorts and places materials into designated areas accordioning to needs
  • Setting up for operations in accordance with company procedures, standard work operating procedures and as instructed by the Lead Hand
  • Regularly inspect and check the quality of work being performed as well as the quality of materials and conditions of the equipment
  • Report any problems or equipment maintenance to the Lead Hand
  • Maintain a clean workstation through the duration of a shift
  • Responsible for using all equipment and operating machinery in a safe, correct, and careful manner, as instructed
  • Assist yard logistics with additional support when required.
  • Perform other production manufacturing tasks as required


  • The forklift operator will report directly to the Lead Hand of the yard ad well as logistic coordinator
  • The forklift operator will work in conjunction with builders and logistics team

Health and Safety:

  • Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions including heat, cold, ice, snow, rain, and all other inclement weather
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time (8-10 hour shifts)
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 50-75 lbs. repetitively
  • Ability to use hands to grasp, handle and feel
  • Frequent stooping, bending, and stretching
  • CAS work boots are REQUIRED while on the manufacturing floor as well as area designated PPE (earplugs, safety glasses, hi-vis vest etc.)

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Basic math skills
  • Must have the ability to be alert while operating machinery
  • Must be able to read and write
  • Ability to read tape measure
  • Keen attention to detail
