Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team. The ideal candidate will support pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications, ensuring accurate patient care, and maintaining pharmacy operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to patient safety. Experience in pharmacy environments is highly preferred. The Pharmacy Technician will play a vital role in delivering quality healthcare services and supporting medication management for diverse patient populations.
Duties
- Assist pharmacists in preparing, dispensing, and labeling prescriptions accurately and efficiently
- Manage inventory by stocking medications, checking expiration dates, and placing orders as needed
- Provide excellent patient care by answering medication-related questions and offering guidance under pharmacist supervision
- Maintain precise records of medication transactions and patient information in compliance with regulatory standards
- Ensure the pharmacy environment adheres to safety and cleanliness standards
- Utilize medical terminology effectively to communicate with healthcare professionals and patients
- Assist with billing, insurance claims, and documentation related to medication dispensing
Experience
- Previous experience as a pharmacy technician is preferred, especially within the pharmacy setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration procedures is essential
- Experience providing patient care in healthcare environments is highly advantageous
- In good standing with the Alberta college.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required to ensure accuracy in medication handling and recordkeeping
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
