Your Opportunity:

You will abe responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, managing patient records in Connect Care, scheduling patient tests and/or treatments a range of administrative activities in support of the unit. These duties will support both the Long Term Care, the Ambulatory Care and the Coaldale Health Centre as a whole. The Unit Clerk is accountable for staff scheduling, supply orders and pay roll duties and works closely with the team and Registered Nurse to meet the needs of those in our care.

Description:

As a Unit Clerk, you will be responsible for the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information. You will also be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks which may include reception, greeting and directing visitors, patients and health professionals, maintaining patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders as well as scheduling patient tests and/or treatments. You will also be responsible for performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit.

Required Qualifications:Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program.

Additional Required Qualifications:Strong communication skills (written, verbal and non-verbal) are a necessity. Problem solving and experience with conflict resolution and management is a requirement. Ability to be flexible and adaptable is necessary to simultaneously support the LTC and AC. Completion of Connect Care Training to support Ambulatory Care services and Long Term Care. Experience with the Referral Process for Ambulatory Care in Connect Care. Experience in identifying stock and supply quotas, ordering and managing supplies within the budget allotted based on statistical usage. Experience with staffing and understanding of collective agreements. Strong clerical skills and experience with data collection, analysis and application.
