About the position:

Under the supervision of the Programs Supervisor the Youth Worker/Visit Coach will provide a safe and supported setting for children, youth and care giver connection in the home, community or visit environment. The Youth Worker/Visit Coach will also ensure the children or youth referred to the Youth Work program are provided skill building youth work to enhance social and/or emotional development based on individual and developmental needs.

We are looking for a Full-Time Youth Worker/ Visit Coach for the Youth Work and Supervised Family Time Program at McMan Medicine Hat.

Here is how you will contribute as a Youth Worker/Visit Coach:

  • Develop and implement skill building programs for children and youth ages 6-17.
  • Develop goal planning and monitor progress.
  • Build collaborative relationships with families during Supervised Family Time.
  • Provide transportation to and from Supervised Family Time.
  • Provide detailed documentation for Children and Family Services.

Required Qualifications:

  • Degree/Diploma in human services or related field and a member in good standing with the applicable professional association. A combination of experience and education may be considered.
  • Minimum one year’s experience working with children, youth, and families.
  • Willing to work a flexible schedule including some evenings.
  • Excellent written, interpersonal, administrative, and organizational skills.
  • An essential function of the position is the ability to carry 44 pounds to allow for carrying child car seats.
  • For Agency’s Third-Party Vehicle Insurance, drivers must be at least 25 years old to operate the 10-passenger transit van.
  • Clear Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector and Child Intervention Check dated within the past six months, Driver’s Abstract, valid Class 5 Driver’s License with at least 3 years of driving experience in Canada, use of reliable vehicle and minimum $2M Third Party Liability insurance to carry passengers.
  • Standard First Aid CPR Level C Certificate.
