Overview
We are seeking for a hard working, reliable Kitchen Helper/Cook individual to join our family oriented Thai restaurant. The ideal candidate must be able to work in a very fast-paced food service environment and assist with food preparation, maintain cleanliness, and ensure smooth kitchen operations. This role is perfect for individuals interested in gaining experience in the food industry and developing their skills in food handling, cooking, and meal preparation. Candidate must have one to two years of restaurant and kitchen experience, able to work under pressure, dependable, must read, write and speak English, and have excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
- Dish washing, kitchen equipment cleaning and mopping kitchen areas
- Prepare and cook complete meals
- Ensure proper sanitation practices are followed throughout the kitchen area
- Follow all food safety regulations and procedures to prevent contamination
Experience
- Previous experience in restaurant, or kitchen environments
- Familiarity with food preparation, cooking techniques, and meal assembly is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, attention to details, handle heavy loads
- Strong teamwork skills and a positive attitude are essential for success in this role
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 12 – 20 per week
